Finding the patterns which keep us stuck can be a tedious process. If we're lucky, sometimes a pattern is so evident, showing us particulars of what's not working in our lives. Other times, patterns feel like the elephant in the room, but all the lights are out and we're left trying to feel around in the dark for this thing that we know is there, but can't quite touch. These are more difficult to find because we're not quite ready to see the truth of what fuels the pattern, that emotional yuck informing us into unhealthy ways of being.
This past October 2014 we cycled through the new moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is about truth-telling, telling the truth about ourselves, what we see around us and within us. Since then, we've been prompted, or really propelled, into feeling what no longer works for us in our lives. It's made us take a deeper look, more than ever before, at what we really want in our spirit rather than what we think we should want. It's been an initiation of sorts to dissolve these old beliefs so something new can manifest.
This dissolution continues to shatter the old defense mechanisms we've clung to for so many years. The ways we've protected our hearts from being hurt somehow don't seem as relevant. These old armors seem clunky to us now. And even as we might continue to lead with them, we get an innate sense that we've outgrown them and it's time for something new. Yet as the thought of 'something new' lingers in our consciousness, we begin to teeter around in our bodies with a newer vulnerability, a concept most of us find quite uncomfortable.
During the winter months nature begins to feel more bare and so do we. The winter months present an opportunity to be slower, more introspective, intuitive, so we may rebirth with the light. Being called into this new skin, we show up feeling bare and exposed without our old armor. It's a time to find comfort and strength in it. Because it's the only skin we've ever had. The skin being a metaphor for our true state. As we've shed, there's more space for us to come forward and lead with the whole of our potential, providing more room for compassion, creativity, expansion, intimacy, thought-based solutions and even healing.
Venturing into this new state of being isn't a choice. It's simply what is happening. However, we can choose how to navigate the vulnerability. Whether we like it or not, this is the collective, oceanic flow. Some will be buoyed, floating along, trusting the flow of the current, some will swim beneath its surface, efforting against its current before coming up for air and some will sink even deeper to the bottom before realizing that there's even a surface towards which to rise. We're all in it at varied depths and we all have the ability to choose what is in our best alignment.
As we arrive at the crossroads of the old behaviors and new possibilities, what will we choose? Energy follows focus, wherever our focus lands, that is where our energy flows. Many of you will look into your hearts, more than ever before, and simply align with what's there. Choosing harmony, acceptance, even empathy over the rigidity of what is 'supposed to be'.
We do not mirror our world, instead the world mirrors who we are. The work to be done within ourselves is to become more of a witness to our old rickety reactions. How much time and effort we've spent maintaining them! As we enter into our witness we immediately inhabit a much wiser self, a more spacious self, giving us the inner strength we need to pull the fearful part of ourselves closer into the heart and cradle it with a compassion its never felt before. In this one compassionate act, we can then begin to share the essence of who we are and allow this to create a world which possesses equipoise, grace, peace and benevolence, mirroring the the essence of our true nature.
