People often ask me if I get tired doing energy work. I don't really tire from practicing energy healing, but like many of you, I can also feel a bit spent after a long day at the office. Holding a supportive healing space in a higher vibration does take work and presence. You might imagine it can be jarring to shift gears into the real world outside. It's why I often drive straight home to our peaceful little retreat in Marin. Yet coming home to my beau and daughter isn't always so peaceful. Don't get me wrong, I love my family dearly, but even after a 30 minute commute home, I'm still in somewhat of an altered state. So walking through the door to CNN blaring on the TV, every light on in the house, my beau glued to his iPhone and daughter playing games on the computer is quite a different atmosphere from the candlelit, incense-infused healing space from which I just descended.
I learned a technique about 10 years ago called lifting the vibration of a space. It's a practice of visualization where you imagine the building or room you're about to enter and lift its energetic vibration. I do it every morning on my way to work, lifting the vibration of the healing studio to a golden light, a very high vibrational energy. So by the time I greet my first client the space is set and sealed in this beautiful light. Yet, even though I practice this every morning for my healing space. I forget to always do on my drive home.
A few years back, I decided to practice lifting the vibration of my home during my commute to see how well it worked. This time I visualized the entire home bathed in a rose quartz light, a very loving, compassionate vibration. I visualized the light reaching from the ground, up through each of the rooms, swirling around my family, filling each of them, into every corner and up over the rooftop. By the time I was done with this visualization our home was completely engulfed in a beautiful rose quartz bubble. Arriving home, I walked up the driveway and noticed the absence of the blue TV blur which usually fills me with dread. Upon entering, not only was the TV off, there were candles lit in place of every household light. The dishes were done and put away. Dinner was cooking on the stove. I heard the twinkling sound of piano keys, it was my daughter unplugged from her computer and practicing piano! Finally my beau came out of his studio across the breezeway. He hugged me hello, but had a perplexed look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he replied, "It's the weirdest thing, my computer crashed about 20 minutes ago and still hasn't come back up." Oops! I guess I laid it on a bit too strong!
Try this technique anywhere you want to walk into a peaceful setting which can feel otherwise jarring or intense. Your office, that board meeting, your dental appointment, that difficult conversation you're about to have with your significant other.. Gold represents a very high vibration energy. White is more of a neutral, peaceful energy and Rose is a very loving, compassionate energy. Just choose the best one to match the scenario. Visualize the entire space filled with this light. It might take a few minutes, but try to be present with it and complete the whole space. Then walk in and see what happens!
