While so many of you were marching over the weekend. I sat on a hill. I've been doing alot of that lately, hiking, sitting on the earth, getting grounded, strengthening my bandwidth for what is coming. This practice takes more effort than you might realize. Staying present, getting into alignment and intuitively receiving information from a higher source.
I, like so many of you, have allowed 'life' to get in our way of seeing what is out of balance. But here's the thing, 8 years ago there was a massive awakening. These awakenings come in waves. Looking at recent history, we saw one happening in the late 50s and another in the 60s. I witnessed this most recent one firsthand by the influx of people coming to see me, to do their spiritual work, to learn Reiki, to meditate, to practice yoga, to eat cleaner, to lift their vibe! We felt better, we cruised along in this new vibe until the momentum just kind of went kaput. We plateaued, we got complacent. But recently the planets have aligned in a way to shake us up. We got agitated, we began to look around and it scared the holy hell out of us. And then we exclaimed, “What’s happening?!”
But here’s the cool thing: Because we did that work at the spirit level, because we cleaned up our internal ‘yuck’ we got aligned with a higher sense of ourselves. That never goes away. We may ignore it, but the doorway back never disappears. So, because we got a taste of what is truly possible, any time we encounter something that is not aligned with our higher self, we feel it at a higher magnitude.
Regardless of party affiliation, this past election shook everyone to their core. I think I can safely say that by the end of it we all felt exhausted. We took the holiday season to eat and be merry and then the cold, hard hand of January slapped us upside the head and said "Pay attention!"
Here’s what I’m excited about: Now that we are facing a world that is so out of alignment, we find we can’t ignore the discomfort. We are being supported at the cosmic level to step into this higher alignment. Believe it or not, this discomfort is happening for us. We’re not only being called as citizens, we’re being called as spirits to bring this planet into balance. This is why we are feeling more motivated than ever to pay attention to the imbalance, to understand it, to critically think about it and discuss solutions. This is an exciting time for all of us to become involved and engaged in our world! We get to do this. We get to act, yet it is a privilege so many of us have taken for granted.
I hope you'll join me in putting activism on your to-do list every day. It doesn't have to be big, but make sure it's impactful. Whether it's calling your Reps, joining a group, educating yourself on particular issues, or just being kind to people around you. It's a time for us to open, show up and make a difference.
3 SIMPLE STEPS
1. Get interested. What issues resonate for you? Is it climate change, social justice, voting rights, animal rights? What catches your heart?
2. Educate yourself. Out of the issues resonant for you, learn more about what is out of balance and why. Learn more about what to do, who to contact, who is making these policies.
3. Take Action. It could take as little as 5 minutes, but make sure you are taking action on the issues important to you every day.

Caring for our world doesn't have to be a partisan issue. Our politicians have made it that way and have created massive divisions. Yet, when I speak to my republican, democrat and independent friends, we all have similar concerns for our planet, our country and our friends and families. Take this opportunity to step out of the cloud and let your light be part of the silver lining!
