Full Moon Update: Pink Moon in Libra

The Pink Full Moon in Libra happens Friday April 19th at 4:10 a.m.

I’m the first to admit I’m a nature lover and bonafide treehugger. No, really, I actually hug trees. On my morning hikes, I greet Grandfather Tree, a strong California Live Oak, who stands firm amidst a flurry of poison oak so I simply say a warm hello.

I pass through an aisle of towering Eucalyptus and a small stand of three Bay Laurels who always seem to shimmy as I pass. I consider these my Aunties. As I reach my meditation spot on the hill overlooking the north side of Mt. Tamalpais, I pass Grandmother Tree. A small footpath leads you underneath her expansive oak embrace. She must be at least 100 years old, but her wisdom and love are much more ancient.

When I first met her ten years ago, she guided me to turn around and lean into a small, wide groove in her trunk that perfectly embraced my body. As I did this I felt a overpowering wave of unconditional love pouring over me.

In shamanism, it is believed that each member of the community is integral to the whole, this also includes everything in nature. Which is why many indigenous cultures extend their idea of family to the mountains, animals, boulders, trees, flowers, even the wind.

Upon the last full moon in Libra which coincided with the spring equinox, something amazing happened that made me a full believer (as if I wasn’t already) in the energy of all things and that we are all working with each other all the time.

As I sat in my morning meditation spot, I felt a total alignment with the energies of Earth & Universe. I feel this connection or “flow” each time I meditate in that spot. It helps me to understand that I am co-creating with something much larger than myself.

However, on that day the energy was much stronger. I sat and witnessed the deep resonant energy coursing through the core of my body. As I ended my meditation I was guided to walk down the hill on a different, less-trodden path. It felt like I was going through a series of energy portals where I continued to receive energetic healings in my body. The joint pain I experienced in my knee was gone, the tension through my neck disappeared. I quickly began to understand, that we as the collective, were all being energetically upgraded at that moment.

The March full moon was in Libra in which a portal opened for major upgrades in our energy body. Some of us felt in harmony with it, some of us fell ill, some of us landed somewhere in the middle, feeling a state of limbo or malaise. Regardless, that energy upgrade helped us to release and clear out stagnation of the long previous winter so we were better able to adapt to the call of New Moon in Aries which held themes around new beginnings and initiations.

Initiations can be anything in life that is asking you to step across the threshold into a new way of being. It can manifest as an illness, a breakup, a move, a job loss or simply a limbo space of not knowing what is next.

The second full moon in Libra arrives this Friday April 19th. We get two full moons in Libra and this one is also known as the Pink Moon as it sends a loving nudge (or shove for some of us) over the threshold into a new way of being.

Libra is the zodiac sign of balance, it’s an air sign and you can see how the balance is showing up to support us through the initiation that was presented a few weeks ago.

Over the past month you may have gotten clarity on what you want to manifest or perhaps a brilliant picture was presented to you which depicted what your Divine Life could look like. The portal has been opened for you to step into your Divine Life.

Libra Full Moon is lovingly supporting you to step across the threshold into this new life with one single request, lose all fear.

When we are presented with such a gift of stepping into a life that is perfectly aligned with our soul, we quickly realize that elements of our current life will need to be dismantled. Much like moving out of an old home into another, there is always something discarded curbside that we no longer wish to take with us.

However, releasing these items may cause us to bargain on how we might take them with us and possibly fit them into the new home. Yet we ultimately realize they need to be packed up and sent on their way.

This is the Pink Moon in Libra, the final balance. It’s calling you to trust, lose fear and leave all attachments to the old at the door.

It’s an unsettling process and you’ll want to spend more time in quiet, in nature, in stillness. I say this because your actions require a balanced state of mind to ensure you are responding from your true state, rather than reactive efforting.

You are assisted by all three shamanic realms of Earth, Elemental and Universe. As you sit by the ocean, in the park, on a hilltop or even in your backyard, ask these realms if you can step into their sacred space as the radiant light that you are. As you practice this, you’ll feel all the support you need to naturally align with this new way of being.

Allow the Moon to be your guide, as it will show you the cracks, the gaps, and what needs to be cleared so the new can arrive.

Word on the street about Pink Full Moon in Libra:

Astrologer, Tanaaz

"Under the energy of this potent Libra Full Moon, ask yourself where you can love yourself more? Ask yourself what relationships are no longer bringing out the best in you? This relationship can be with another person, but it can also be a relationship you have with an object or an idea, such as money, your job, a belief, or a set of values.

The time has come to shift and pivot, and relationships are the focus. The Universe wants us to clear the way and to let go of relationships that are no longer necessary in order for us to keep continuing forward.

The Universe wants us to speak our truth and have those difficult conversations with those that need to hear it. The Universe wants us to make changes so our relationships become a source of love, strength, and hope as they guide us on our way.

Allow the Moon to be your guide, as it will show you the cracks, the gaps, and what needs to be cleared so the new can arrive."

Astrologer, Roya Backlund writes,

"This year's Pink Moon takes place in the sign of Libra, which is unlike the April full moon of 2018, which took place in the sign of Scorpio. This makes harmony and balance a central feature of this upcoming full moon, since Libra is known for these qualities.

This zodiac sign is ruled by Venus, planet of love and beauty, and as the full moon reflects the gorgeous promise of spring through the pink flowers bursting along the natural world, Libra serves to emphasize it. Taking place during the sun's final degree in Aries, this full moon has exalted power. Ready for Aries season to go out with a bang?

Although this harmony sounds peaceful and all, it will be rife with complexity and mixed feelings because it's also forming a square with karmic Saturn and obsessive Pluto. This essentially means that, under the Pink Moon, you'll be reckoning with the results of decisions you may have wished you'd made differently."

Lena Stevens of The Power Path, writes,

“ There is an alignment focused on action and manifestation during this time. You can begin to see results of your discipline especially around setting boundaries and following your own truth. There is still chaos causing much confusion and you can either join in the fray or stay in your own lane.

Of course, it is always interesting to participate in the drama and there will definitely be drama. However, the distraction of drama especially other people’s drama, can drain vital energy from you that could be used towards feeding some bid for power important to you and your intentions. So be aware of your choices and their consequences. It’s your life and you create what happens."

Full Moon Ritual:

  • Journal about your shadow pieces. What keeps you separate from your Divine Life and why?

  • As you journal you'll notice the emotional charge rising up again. It's ok, you are supported, feel the emotions and let them release onto your journal.

  • Now sit back. Feel your spine connecting with the support behind you, whether it's the chair, the wall or the vibrant energy of your spirit guides.

  • Make the agreement with your body to be supported in this moment.

  • Feel the center of your being running through your spine. This is your internal seat of wisdom and power.

  • Now that you've connected to that seat, place your left hand (receiving hand) up to receive that shadow piece of you. Place your right hand on the journal entry.

  • Agree to welcome the shadow home to your seat of power, security and wisdom. Then agree to fully release the upset that lies in your journal entry.

  • "I fully release these pieces in my life which no longer serve me and I take my seat in the powerful position of being co-creator with Universe and Mother Earth"

  • Take it a step further and tear out the journal entry, burn it in your fireplace, bury it in the sand, send it afloat on an ocean wave. Anything you can think that fully releases it back to the Universe. Then sit back and witness the spaciousness within you for new energies to reside.

The healing work I do helps you to identify the shadow pieces, together we release the old patterns and connect you to your wise spirit. If you'd like more support with this, come see me!
