New Moon Update: Gemini

The New Moon in Gemini happens Wednesday, June 13th at 12:43 p.m. PST.

I had a dream last week about a mother bobcat who was hiding her cub in a far corner of a cluttered house. In my dream, everyone wanted to trap and relocate them. I kept telling them if they just gave her space she would find a way to emerge on her own. Everyone went to sleep and as it became very quiet, she emerged with her cub and they both turned into powerful black leopards, freeing themselves from the clutter and stepped out into the mystical dark night.

New Moon Guidance: Step out from your clutter and into your mystic

It doesn't take an Amazonian shaman to decipher this dream. It became clear to me that my spirit was feeling cluttered and needed some mental space so I could emerge full-priestess!

The new moon in Taurus last month had us sourcing our energy from Earth. The hope this month is that we're now fortified enough to spread our wings into the airy ether of Gemini.

Gemini brings us face to face with our shadow and enlightens all the ways we get mired in our ego mind, rather than our spirit mind. It reminds us of the law of polarities. And when we can recognize that there is light & dark, good & bad, joy & pain, peace & chaos, then we have an easier time sitting in the middle of whatever it is with much more objectivity and a knowing that this too will pass. Not only will it pass, but as you sit in the seat of your own wisdom, you'll have the strength to reconcile, grow, evolve and move forward.

I sat in my vision circle on the hill at 7am this morning and the wisdom I received from spirit is to tell you that no matter what, you are ok! Really, no matter what. I know it doesn't seem like that right now, but that's because you're letting ego run the show, rather than your spirit. "You are energy, so connected to everything. Your purpose for being here is to experience, to witness and to respond from your heart."

As the great Mary Oliver asks, "...what is it you plan to do with your one, wild and precious life?" The choice is yours and Gemini reminds us the possibilities are endless if we just release our clutter.

Word on the street about New Moon Gemini

Astrologer, Tanaaz Chubb

As an air sign, Gemini energy encourages us to think deeply so we can figure out what thoughts are true and what thoughts stem from our fears. Our thoughts are so powerful, and can dictate how we experience and see the world. Our thoughts can also overrule our lives if we don’t keep them in check....Thoughts are so powerful, and so on this New Moon we are going to be encouraged to look and assess what thought processes and belief systems we are holding onto. What stories do we keep telling ourselves? What thoughts are blocking us from moving forward?

Astrologer, Steven Shroyer

You have the ability this Lunar month to reflect on your surroundings and social values in order to discover who you actually are, as opposed to who others have said you are, or who you feel you need to be. These discoveries and reflections can strengthen your sense of self and help you feel confident in your own individuality. It can also lead to a more compassionate perspective toward the experiences of others.

Astrologer, Pat Liles

The Twins are the symbol of air sign Gemini, a duality, ruling over the dual systems of the body – the arms, hands, lungs (respiration) and also the neural network of nerves that are our electrical system.  We’re susceptible to anxiety and nervousness.  Best to train the mind to take up the art of positive thinking and the calming and centering effects of deep, focused breathing (respiration).

At New Moon, ruler Mercury is in early degrees of Cancer conjoined the Sun and Moon in Gemini turning up our emotional radar and helping us decipher the spoken and unspoken communications in every interaction.  We are able to listen and receive information from an emotionally open place.  Our perceptions of what is right and true are guided by our empathetic, intuitive mind.

Guide to Setting New Moon in Gemini Intentions

New moons are great astrological timings to help bring your intentions to full manifestation. I like writing 5-10 solid intentions based on what the current New Moon rules (see samples below). You may keep them in a journal, place them in a jar, I’ve even deposited mine into the hollow of my favorite tree. The key is to write them from your heart, then send them up freely to the Universe so you may be graced with their fruition in good time.

Remember, these intentions may not come to manifest overnight or even during the month. It’s important to release your hold on them and allow what is in your highest alignment to come through.

In her book, New Moon Astrology, Jan Spiller defines the theme for our intentions in this New Moon. Gemini rules:
